Webinars Attended

Education Week is a great Place to follow up on webinars and widen your horizon about certain topics related to Education. It is for free, it's informative, and you receive a certificate after you complete the webinar. The first Webinar I attended that I will be telling you about is called " Interactive Learning Best Practices: Creative Ways Interactive Displays Engage Students".

In this Webinar Samsung has Introduced their Interactive Whiteboard and How is it helpful to be used in Classrooms. As you all know that the integration of technology really makes students more engaged in the activity, better learning techniques can last with long term learning, because the best way to learn something is to actually apply it to the real world. Now in the Use of the Interactive Whiteboard that is Presented by Samsung, the teacher can just share whatever they have on their tablet directly on to the board and they are working on the cloud software, so they can manage everything easily.

Students can work on the whiteboard at one time and it is more fun and engaging for students to be active learners than passive learners. I believe I am a Constructivist and also a realist in my teaching plans later on because they focus on the learner being taught by using critical thinking as well as they discover things to reach to the truth. How boring is it to just sit there in class and listen to the teacher talking and talking about a certain topic for 1 hour? or Doesn't every student prefer to learn new things using engaged activities?

Well using the Interactive whiteboard by Samsung is very simple to use and teachers actually fully engage their students in the Class activity as well as the fact that a teacher can easily operate with the whiteboard even if they are not previously trained because on the screen it provides the teacher with Step by Step Instructions on how to use it. Now many of the teachers actually get worried about losing the pen or something then how can they operate on the Interactive Whiteboard? Well they can use anything they find in front of them to write they can even use chopsticks to write and it will work because the pen is not something technically related to the whiteboard, it is just a way to write. In addition they have actually placed an antimicrobial cover on the screen as it is actually being touched from one person to another and most of the teachers are worried about the Poor Sanitary Purposes.

In conclusion I believe it is very helpful to use this Interactive whiteboard in Classrooms as teachers can also plan their lessons on their tablet and use it in Classroom. Technology has brought a lot of positivity into the world of education but that doesn't mean to solely depend on Technology only. If we use technology only it will provide us with a drawback of losing the ability to Comprehend Material that Students are assigned to Read, We use technology to support our Teaching Methods or Pedagogy but it is not the only way to teach. Sometimes students have to be assigned to read about something and criticize it or give their opinion about it . Moderation is the key to success.

Some Disadvantages I pinpointed about Education Week:

1- The time of Webinars are at 9:00 P.M only due to time zone changes

2- The certificate is professional and valid but it is not professional to leave the text out of the box assigned to write.

3- Sometimes they have internet problems during the Webinar.
